In order to do so, we hosted live iftaar series in collaboration with CCMS on a weekly basis on a variety of topics. These topics included: Muslim Perspectives on Climate Change and Ecology, The Making and Meaning of Muslim Space and Muslim Feminism. Through productive talks with speakers and community members, we were able to stay connected as we navigated our way through the pandemic.
2020 Virtual STA Conference
May 1st, 2020
The silent mental health crisis in our schools is a very real and prevalent issue affecting students to such extent where anxiety attacks and breakdowns have become normalized. Through this discussion, we created a space where we could voice some of our own experiences as students in this system, and relate how the pressure of trying to earn and maintain high grades, while balancing extra-curricular and personal life has taken a significant role on our mental health. This conversation with teachers, really allowed us to express our concerns and listen to their views!

It was super beneficial for everyone who attended and a little bit of positivity during the uncertain times! Check out the interview here.
Conversation with Minnijean Trickey
January 16th, 2020
In a world where there is still much conflict, both locally and globally, it was a pleasure learning from Minnijean's past experiences, such as how she, along with several others, were able to take the side of justice and grant equal education rights for African Americans. She is a major political figure, a member of the Little Rock Nine and an advocate for African Americans. There were many valuable lessons to take away that are still applicable!
